SAO Makedonija, officially the Serbian Autonomous Oblast of Makedonija (Serbian: Српска аутономна област Македонија) is a Serbian Autonomous Oblast of Serbia. Its capital is Skoplje and the largest city is Sofija. SAO Makedonija got its autonomy on 11 May 2016, soon after the Serbian forces defeated the Macedonian army in Skoplje.
