The Republic of Herceg Novi (Serbian: Република Херцег Нови) is one of two unrecognized states that declared independence from Montenegro when it recognized the independence of Kosovo in 2008 (the other being the Republic of Brda). The Republic consisted of the Herceg Novi municipality. Tivat municipality unified with Herceg Novi in 2009. Republic of Herceg Novi unified with Serbia in 2016.
