Poland (Polish: Polska), officially the Republic of Poland (Polish: Rzeczpospolita Polska; Kashubian: Pòlskô Repùblika), is a country in Central Europe bordered by Germany to the west; Moravia to the southwest; Slovakia to the south; Russia to the east and northeast; and the Baltic Sea to the north. Poland proclaimed independence from Germany in 2021, after the referendum held in the Province of Poland, Mecklenburg and Pomerania.
